The first day of Harvard Model Congress Europe (HMCE) 2011 in Bedford Hotel, Brussels, Belgium. The hotel was crowded by 100 students from all over the world. They come to simulate the United States Government and International Organisation that comes with several resolutions for a better world based on the briefing topic given.
This year, HMCE is attended by 24 schools from Netherland, France, Jordan, India, Germany, Czech Republic, Mauritius, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Canada and Indonesia. To see the school list that attend the HMCE, we feel very proud because we are the only Indonesian participant. Though it is the first time for YPSA to participate in HMCE, the students try their best to stand against the cold temperature, different culture, and to prepare themselves for the program itself.
After a series of congress, I found something to be implemented in YPSA to encourage all of the school community to make the slogan "Towards World Class School" comes true. It is not enough to have such a slogan without any real application to implement. Yes, it was COMMUNICATION ABILITY!! As an international school, YPSA has to improve its curriculum methods to encourage the students to use English as their daily communication language.
Though it sounds difficult to do, but at least, we have to start it from now. A serious, focused and consistent will is required to achieve a real world class school. I feel a great optimism to see our students who participate in this program and off course other students in YPSA, that they will achieve the world class students predicate. Surely it's not an easy way to go, because there are a lot of things to repair and develop. And I see obviously, that Communication Ability is an opening gate to make a change.
I, officially report from Brussels, suggest and (maybe) urge all of the school community of YPSA, let's make more improvements and changes, to achieve "Real World Class School".
